01 / The case for it

Why grip is worth measuring

Grip is invisible, and it fades as floors wear, the weather and sea air come indoors and cleaning routines drift. A test sets a clear figure against it — before anyone finds the problem the hard way. The HSE is clear: slips and trips are the leading cause of serious injury at work.

02 / How a visit goes

How we measure it

1

We come to you

On site, at a time that suits — out of hours where that keeps you open.

2

We test it

Wet and dry, with the pendulum and, where needed, surface roughness.

3

You get proof

A clear, accredited report — values, areas, the lot.

03 / The duty

Where the duty falls

The position is unambiguous: if people use your floors, you are responsible for keeping them safe and for being able to show you have checked. It comes from the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Workplace Regulations, which apply across Scotland; in care settings, the Care Inspectorate expects slip risk to be assessed and managed. A measured value is the evidence that stands up.

04 / No agenda

Independence, built in

We lay no flooring, sell no coatings and take no commission — so the figure carries no agenda but the measurement. It is produced by the same UKAS-accredited laboratory that has tested floors for Amazon, Gatwick, British Airways and TUI, and that examines more than 300 flooring products a year.
